The Umbrella Man - The Dan Mclean Hot Six (2015)

Welcome to The Dan Mclean Hot Six’s new album, featuring six of Canberra’s finest musicians and vocals by Hetty Kate. It’s a swingin’ smorgasbord of sweet sassy tunes made famous by Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald and more, with some fun new songs plucked from the sequinned stages of the 1930s New York Cabaret Scene. Perfect for dancing and listening!

This fun album was recorded in July 2015 and mixed over Christmas the same year at HiHat Studio in Canberra by Greg Stott.. and the band are Dan Mclean (trumpet); Valdis Thomann (trombone); Greg Stott (guitar); Wayne Kelly (piano); James Luke (bass) and Mark Sutton (drums) with vocals by Hetty Kate.

The Dan Mclean Hot Six are well known to Australian lindy-hoppers as they can often be enjoyed at Canberrang, Jumptown Jam, Slowdown and other first class dance events held in Australia's capital city. A vibrant scene with some extraordinary dancers, Dan Mclean loves being a part of this community and plays the music from the heart!
